Lotus Thai Viet

Whenever I go to a food court, I will usually walk one big round before deciding what to have. Sometimes, I ended up ordering food from the first stall I passed by. :P

This time, I zoomed straight into Lotus Thai Viet. I knew there are still many dishes waiting for me to try.

Minced Chicken Omelette with rice (9/10)

I wanted to order the set, which consisted of the main (above), a bowl of tom yam soup and fried spring roll. Auntie later apologised and said that they ran out of spring roll. I had no choice but to take the ala carte rice with omelette.

As I stood there waiting for the dish to be served, I started to have doubts. "Geez... is this appetizing enough to finish? It's just rice and omelette. Should I change my order? But t
here must be a reason why two others have chosen to have that too, huh?"

The omelette, as unpromising as it looked, turned out to be great! It had a light crisp on certain areas and a consistent savoury flavour throughout.

Just the omelette to go with the rice and I am contented.

I can hardly find any minced bits of the chicken though. :P

Soup (7/10)

Auntie was nice enough to offer me a bowl of soup even when I did not take their set meal.

Lotus Thai Viet

Pineapple Rice Set

Pineapple rice (8/10)

Side Dish - Vietnamese Roll? (3/10)

It's probably just me. I don't like the overall bland taste of this roll. If there is anything that I have tasted, it's the mint. And I don't like the idea of eating something that taste like toothpaste. :P

Clear Tom Yam Soup (8/10)

You don't have to go to restaurants to get a good bowl of Tom Yam Soup.

Hokkien Mee @ AMK Hub

First stop was to the Porridge Steamboat recommended by Jaime. Alas, it was full house! By the time we returned to AMK Hub in search for a place to have our dinner, it was already 9 plus. No more roti prata in Ah Mei Cafe. Ichiban, closed. So we decided to go to the AMK Hub foodcourt to try our luck.

The last time we went there, this was the only stall that stood out with its very long queue. We always have the impression that long queues means that the food is exceptionally good. Most of the time, we are right. But sometimes, it's just a false impression.

Hokkien Mee (6/10)

I wouldn't say it's that bad. Just that perhaps, it's not worth queueing up for. One thing for sure, it wasn't cooked on the spot. They merely scooped it out of somewhere. At such late hours, I can't help but feel that they were just reheating the leftovers.

Master Chef

Anchorpoint reveals its new looks! I wanted so much to have a meal at the 'Disney Naturally', but my hub was too embarrassed to enter that restaurant full of parents and kids. :P So we went to the food court instead.

We ordered the Shredded Pork rice set, which comes with vegetables, soup and rice (of course).

Shredded Pork (8/10)

Vegetables (8/10)

The two dishes were generally not bad. But the rice, a very basic requirement in this set, was such a huge disappointment. The rice was so hard, we have difficulty chewing and swallowing. We are fine with overnight food, but at least they should try to steam it up or something to make it edible?
