Jungfraujoch

Spaghetti with Sausage (8/10)

When you are hungry, anything goes!

Ice Cream (6/10)

Didn't like the strawberry part. I still can't figure out how they did the cross.

Gucci

We were curious and curiosity cost us 10Euros each. :P

That's the price of a cup of Gucci coffee. I guess the most pressing question you could have for me right now is, 'Any differences from the coffee we have?'

Gucci Menu

"No" shall be my reply. It's just the brand, really.

What probably makes up for the price is the chocolates that came complimentary with the coffee. Then again, we can't go wrong with chocolates in Europe, can we? :P

Marche

I have been pestering my hub to bring me to Marche for years. When he finally did bring me to Heeren, the outlet was closed down.

Little do I expect that my first time at Marche would be in Europe.

Chicken Cordon Bleu and baked potatoes (9/10)

Grilled chicken (5/10)

There was a long queue at the 'Grill' station. I guess we were all misled. This was nothing like the ready-made Chicken Cordon Bleu above.

One final look at the delicious crusty chicken...

Switzerland McDonalds

Salad Plus (8/10)

Did I mention how crispy their chicken was? I'm lovin' it! :)

De Alps

Schweizer Rosti (9/10)

I ordered what they call 'half portion' and it was just nice.

The following pretty much speaks for everything.

Margherita Rosti (7/10)

My hub ordered a 'full' version for a few more swiss franc and he couldn't finish it!

Candle light, a bear (which the waiter flung 1m away when it got on his way :( ), an Italian flag and a fantastic ambience to boot.

Mount Titlis

We spent about 45 minutes travelling up the mountain in 3 different modes of transport!

The food was average up there, but I guess all we need then was just something to fill our very empty stomachs. :P

Pork chop spaghetti (7/10)

Beef Goulash (heard it was good)

Bacterei Roch

What a creative way to grab attention! But no, it's not just this little cute guy that brought us into the shop. It's the sweet smell of pastries and cakes.

Egg tart? (7/10)

We bought what we thought was an egg tart. Ok, it wasn't as good as it smells. Still a good treat.

French Cafe

All restaurants and cafe should have a separate pot of hot water for the tea you ordered, like the one below.

Chicken Brushchetta (toasted italian bread) - 8/10

It's tasted like something in between pizza and bread.

Hamburger topped with egg

I particularly like the ambience of this cafe. It's a nice, relaxing feeling as you have your meal, drink your beverage and watch the world go by.

Self-Service Food Stations

There were times when we had to stop by at stations along the highway for our toilet breaks and lunch. This is one of the stops we had to make to appease our growling stomachs.

It's a self-service eatery, very much like the Ikea Restaurant in Singapore, whereby you queue up and pick up food along the way.

Potato Salad (8/10)

Lemon Fish (9/10) & Rice (6/10)

The fish was well marinated, slightly crispy and very much to my liking. The rice on the other hand, didn't work so well for me. It's more on the chewy side, which some people actually prefers.

Beef and baked potato (7/10)

Paris McDonalds

My hub and I have always liked trying the McDonalds food (especially those that cannot be found in Singapore) when we visit other countries.

Chicken Mythic (8/10)

Ok... I know this looks similar to the McChicken we find in Singapore and is nothing more than a different and more fanciful name. But, but, it certainly tasted different - much crispier. *crunch crunch*

Royal Deluxe

Just when I thought it was just me and my notion of 'the grass is greener on the other side', my hub came along and commented that their burgers indeed taste better. :)

Service
Our McDonald service upz theirs though. :P

Amorino Gelato Italiano

It was a cold evening at Paris. While most people were indoors shopping for branded goods in the factory outlet, my hub and I defied the laws of nature by having a cup of ice cream outdoors! Brrr... what an experience!

We were asked to choose a cup size (We chose a 4 Euros one) and this entitled us to unlimited flavours! We chose only two flavours (Nutella and Mango), much to the surprise of the stall attendant.

Just look at the two cute cones on top of the ice-cream! It placed a big smile on my face. :)

Before we had the ice-cream, I told my hub that I will only be taking a spoonful or two, as it was really cold then. But after I took my first spoon of the Nutella flavour, I simply couldn't stop. It is not like any ordinary ice cream we have tasted before. It was heavenly!

Even my hub, who is not a fan of chocolate flavoured ice cream, had endless praises for it. In fact, he liked it so much that we had ice cream almost every single day thereafter, just to try our luck in getting back the same flavour. Alas, that was the first and last time we had that nutella flavour during our tour.

Price
About S$8 for a cup of ice cream is certainly very expensive, but for the nutella flavoured one? It was well worth it.

Bishamon Sapporo Ramen

Special Miso Ramen (3/10)

My hubby is the type who is always attracted to food labelled as 'special'. Sometimes, it doesn't pay to be adventurous. We both felt that this bowl of Ramen tasted a bit weird... oh well, you can still say it's 'special'. :P

Shoyu Ramen (7/10)

I am glad I am not so much of a risk taker. Hee...

Ministry of Food (MOF)

I first heard about MOF from Ice. The first thing that came to my mind then was 'Ministry of Finance'? :P Soon after, I read and heard about it so often that I knew it's time for me to pay it a visit.

Green Tea (9/10)

Chawanmushi (9/10)

Comparable to that of Ichiban's!

Egg Handroll (8/10)

Chicken Karaage (8/10)

Some Beef set

Green Tea Sundae (9/10)

Love the waffle, the sundae, the green tea ice cream and the cereals!

Kanten Jelly

From the note that comes with the sundae.

These series contain Japanese Kanten Jelly at the bottom of the dessert. Kanten Jelly is amde from the room part of plant and is rich in fibre. Thus in Japan, it is believed to have slimming effect and is very healthy.

While Kanten Jelly is totally unsweetened & tasteless, native Japanese pour the sauce (either honey/black or white sauce) over the Kanten Jelly generously before eating. MOF Black Sauce for our Kanten jelly series ia made from Black Purnes & Black Dates. Both fruits aid digestion.

I gobbled up a few because it is believed to have slimming effect... Nah! Don't think it helps in a one-time affair. hehz!

We were pretty pleased with the food. Our conversation as follows.

"How's your beef set?"
"It's not bad!"

"My chawanmushi is good too!"
"You are right!"

"I like the chicken karaage"
"The sundae is fantastic!"

"The green tea also taste better than those I have drank before"
"Absolutely agree!"

"Even the waitresses here are also very pretty"
"..." >_<' LOL

Service
I love the speed. From the queuing, to the ordering, to the serving of food, to the billing, everything was done in a jiffy. All in all, we spent only about half an hour from the point we queue to the point we leave the place! Based on the turnover rate, MOF must have earned a lot!

Bali Thai

My favourite Indonesian and Thai Food combined!

Soto Ayam (8/10)

Phad Thai (7/10)

Service
I didn't like it when the waiter's fingers dipped into my bowl of soto ayam. Then, he flicked his hands and the soup droplets came flying towards me. :/

Crystal Jade Kitchen

I don't know about you, but I really loathe walking that long stretch in Citilink from City Hall to Suntec City and Marina Square. It's ok if I have company, but if I am not and was rushed, I can get a bit cranky... :P

That's what happened that day. My hub was way too early for our appointment and I had to double up so that he didn't have to wait long.

Shark's fins (3/10)

To make things worse, I didn't like the first dish that came up - 'shark's fins', which my hub ordered primary because it was on a 50% promotion. >_<" I took only 3 spoonfuls of it and my hub finished the rest of it, claiming that 'it's nice wat'. I think he was trying to justify his implusive purchase. :P
